The reverse showcases a detailed portrait of Kurmangazy (1818-1889), a legendary Kazakh folk musician and composer, inspired by his depiction on the 5 Tenge banknote of 1993. Below the portrait, his name is inscribed in Cyrillic script: "ҚҰРМАНҒАЗЫ", along with his birth and death years (1818-1889). The year of issue "2023" is displayed on the left.
This coin is part of a special commemorative series honoring historical figures featured on Kazakhstan's first banknotes issued in 1993. Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly is one of Kazakhstan’s most celebrated composers, known for his contributions to traditional Kazakh music.
