Rare British India King George V, 1933 J. W. Kelly banknote

The designs of Government of India notes were very simple and forgery prone as the lithography and engraved printing was well advanced in India. After several proposals to ammend them as safeguard against the vices, new designs bearing the portrait of George V, the King Emperor were introduced in the period 1917 - 1932. Understandably, the king was depicted wearing the imperial Crown and the robes of Stars of India.
