The Maldives Monetary Authority issued Maldivian Rufiyaa banknotes in 9 different denominations, including this 50 Maldivian Rufiyaa banknote. They are part of the current Maldivian Rufiyaa banknotes series. The Maldives Monetary Authority started issuing these 50 Maldivian Rufiyaa banknotes in 2015. They are currently still in circulation.

This green coloured banknote of 50 Rufiyaa features the minaret of the Friday Mosque in Malé, capital of the Maldives. The polymer 50 MVR bill also depicts a boy reading from the Qur’an.
