The Maldives Monetary Authority issued Maldivian Rufiyaa banknotes in 9 different denominations, including this 100 Maldivian Rufiyaa banknote. They are part of the current Maldivian Rufiyaa banknotes series. The Maldives Monetary Authority started issuing these 100 Maldivian Rufiyaa banknotes in 2015. They are currently still in circulation.

The polymer plastic banknote of 100 Maldivian rufiyaa shows a woman in traditional dress sewing a low neck Hiru. On the back side of the 100 MVR bill are tablets with ancient Dhivevi language scripture.
